Broadacre Machinery Operator
SA FARMS

Our South Australian Farming Operations are recruiting for a Full Time Machinery Operator/Farmhand for it’s broadacre operation in the Riverland Region of SA. The ideal candidate should be well-versed in the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and management of broadacre agricultural machinery.

 

Responsibilities

This position involves undertaking duties in all areas across the farm including seeding/planting, spraying, and harvesting.  The successful candidate will also have the ability to undertake paddock preparation and complete daily maintenance of equipment.

 

About you

The successful applicant would have experience and competence in the following -

  • Broadacre experience including the operation of modern, large-scale cropping plant and equipment -
    • John Deere tractors and with guidance system
    • John Deere Harvesters
    • Sprayers
  • Willingness to learn and adopt innovative technology.  A tech savvy approach to your work including in-cab monitors and software
  • Maintaining strict Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) standards with an understanding of your responsibility to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others and the ability to direct and support less experienced team members
  • A willingness to learn, adopt new practices, participate in training, and further develop personal skills, whilst working in a team environment
  • Effective communication skills including verbal, written and digital. Be willing to participate in and contribute to planning, reviews, and training sessions (on the farm and with the rest of the Group)
  • Current Chemical Handler’s Certificate; Drivers’ Licence; Forklift Licence preferred. HC Licence.
